01396582 SPRUCE RUN AT MAIN STREET, AT GLEN GARDNER, NJ
LOCATION - Lat 40°41'29", long 74°56'13" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Glen Gardner Borough, Hunterdon County, NJ, Hydrologic Unit 02030105, on left bank 30 feet upstream of bridge on Main Street in Glen Gardner, 1.0 mi downstream from Alpaugh Brook, and 1.8 mi upstream from Spruce Run Reservoir.
DRAINAGE AREA - 12.3 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - March 1978 to September 1988, December 1991 to present. Prior to Sep 1, 2005 published at Spruce Run at Glen Gardner (station 01396580). Data collected prior to Sep 1, 2005 has been adjusted for the difference in drainage area between the two sites.
GAGE - Water-stage and air temperature recorder with telemetry and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 378.35 ft above NAVD of 1988. Prior to Sep 1, 2005, gage was located 1,300 ft upstream, at downstream side of bridge on Sanatorium Road, at a datum of 389.10 ft above NGVD of 1929 and drainage area of 11.3 mi².
REMARKS - Records fair, except for estimated discharges, which are poor. There is indication of regulation from unknown source upstream. Discharges above 1,800 ft³/s from rating curve extension on basis of logarithmic extrapolation.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 2,960 ft³/s, Sep 28, 2011, gage height, 8.39 ft, from rating curve extended above 1,800 ft³/s on basis of logarithmic extrapolation; minimum discharge, 0.80 ft³/s, Sep 23, 1998, adjusted for change in drainage area from site then in use.
