SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Miscellaneous measurements, water year 2000. Continuous-record discharge station, water years 2001 to current year.

REMARKS - Records fair, except for estimated discharges and discharges below 1 ft³/s, which are poor. Records given herein represent flow over spillway, flow through sluice gates and leakage. Dam construction for Deep Run Reservoir was completed in 1988. Water diverted for municipal supply by City of Perth Amboy from nearby wells. Discharges above 1,200 ft³/s from rating curve extension on basis of flow over dam computation.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 5,410 ft³/s, Aug 28, 2011, gage height, 9.60 ft, from rating curve extended above 1,200 ft³/s on basis of flow over dam computation, maximum gage height, 10.73 ft, Oct 29, 2012, affected by backwater from tide; minimum discharge, 0.05 ft³/s, estimated leakage when sluice gate is closed and reservoir was below spillway crest, Aug 26, 2016, undetermined amount of negative flow occurred during tidal surge on Oct 29, 2012.
