01409095 OYSTER CREEK NEAR BROOKVILLE, NJ
LOCATION - Lat 39°47'54", long 74°15'01" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Ocean County, NJ, Hydrologic Unit 02040301, on right bank 20 ft downstream from bridge on State Highway 532, 1.5 mi downstream from reservoir at Wells Mill, and 3.2 mi northeast of Brookville.
DRAINAGE AREA - 7.43 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR NJ-82-1: 1981. WDR US-2012: Datum of gage. The datum of the gage prior to water year 2012 has been revised from 24.74 ft above NGVD 1929 to 25.74 ft above NGVD of 1929.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - July 1965 to December 1984. October 2011 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gages. Datum of gage is 25.74 ft above NGVD 1929. Prior to July 8, 2013 gage located on left bank 20 ft upstream from bridge on State Highway 532 at same datum.
REMARKS - Records poor. Flow probably contains considerable groundwater inflow from other surface drainage basins. Some minor regulation possible from small reservoirs and cranberry bogs upstream. Satellite telemetry at station.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of July 13, 1991 reached a stage of 8.41 ft based on high-water marks, discharge, 550 ft³/s.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 352 ft³/s, gage height, 7.47 ft, minimum discharge, 2.4 ft³/s, Mar. 29, 1981.
