LOCATION - Lat 39°40'00", long 74°19'13" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Eagleswood Township, Ocean County, NJ, Hydrologic Unit 02040301, on downstream left bank at bridge on Martha Road, 50 ft downstream from Stafford Forge Dam, 0.2 mi south of Stafford Forge, and 1.2 mi downstream from Log Swamp Branch.
DRAINAGE AREA - 15.8 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR NJ-83-1: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Occasional low-flow measurements, water years 1969-1973. Continuous-record discharge station, water years 1974 to 1988, July 2003 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder with telemetry and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 6.36 ft above NGVD of 1929. Water years 1969-1973, low-flow measurements made at site 400 ft downstream. Prior to Aug 6, 1981, water-stage recorder and wooden control at site 50 ft upstream at datum 9.42 ft higher.
REMARKS - Records fair, except for estimated discharges, which are poor. Flow occasionally regulated by cranberry bogs upstream of gage.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 277 ft³/s, Nov 24, 2009, gage height, 13.08 ft; minimum discharge, 0.00 ft³/s, May 17, 1974.
