LOCATION - Lat 39°58'29", long 75°16'49" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Philadelphia County, PA, Hydrologic Unit 02040202, on left bank 30 ft downstream from bridge on U.S. Highway No. 1 and 50 ft upstream from unnamed tributary at west city limits of Philadelphia.
DRAINAGE AREA - 4.78 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1964 to September 1981. Prior to October 1973 published as "near Philadelphia". September 2004 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder, crest-stage gage, and concrete control. Datum of gage is 121.76 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Satellite telemetry at station.
COOPERATION - Station established and maintained by the U.S. Geological Survey. Funding for the operation of this station is provided by City of Philadelphia, Water Department, and the U.S. Geological Survey.
REMARKS - Records for water year 2014 are fair except those for discharges greater than 120 ft³/s and those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Records for water year 2015 are fair except those for discharges greater than 120 ft³/s and those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Records for water year 2016 are fair, except for flows greater than 120 cfs, Aug 1-3, and estimated daily values, which are poor. Records for water year 2017 are fair, except for flows greater than 120 cfs and those estimated discharges, which are poor. Records for water year 2018 are fair, except for flows greater than 120 cfs and those estimated discharges, which are poor.  Records for water year 2019 are fair, except for flows greater than 120 cfs.  No estimated discharges during the 2019 water year.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge 4,930 ft³/s, Aug 1, 2004, gage height 11.18 ft.

INSTRUMENTATION - Water-quality monitor interfaced with a data collection platform collecting 15-minute readings of water temperature, specific conductance, pH, and dissolved oxygen.
