LOCATION - Lat 39°49'42", long 75°46'52" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Chester County, PA, Hydrologic Unit 02040205, at Third Street bridge in Avondale Borough, 2,000 ft upstream from State Route 41.
DRAINAGE AREA - 11.3 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 2007 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 270 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, from topographic map. Satellite telemetry at station.
COOPERATION - Funding for this station is provided by the Chester County Water Resources Authority, Chester County Emergency Services, and the U.S. Geological Survey.
REMARKS - Records for water year 2014 are rated fair, except those for discharges less then 5 ft³/s and those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Records for water year 2015 are rated fair, except those for discharges less then 5 ft³/s and those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Records for water year 2016 are rated good, except those for discharges less then 5 ft³/s, which are considered poor. Records for water year 2017 are rated good, except for periods Oct 7-19 and Jul 26-30 which are fair, and those for discharges less then 5 ft³/s and those periods that are estimated which are considered poor. Records for water year 2018 are rated good, except for those from period Jul 1 to 3, which is fair, those for discharges less then 5 ft³/s and those for estimated discharges, which are poor. Records for water year 2019 are rated fair, except those for discharges less then 5 ft³/s, those for discharges greater than 160 ft³/s, and those for estimated discharges, which are poor.

REMARKS - Results of benthic surveys can be obtained by contacting the U.S. Geological Survey Pennsylvania Water Science Center, Downingtown Field Office.

PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD - pH: October 2007 to October 2014.
COOPERATION - Samples were collected with cooperation from the Chester County Water Resources Authority and the Chester County Department of Emergency Services.
INSTRUMENTATION - Data sonde monitoring pH deployed insitu.
REMARKS - Samples were collected as part of the Chester County Biological Monitoring project. As of October 2013, results from discrete water quality samples collected at this site are available through the U.S. Geological Survey National Water Information System web interface on the "Water Quality for the Nation" webpage. Interruptions in the record were due to malfunctions of the equipment. Records for water year 2014 pH are fair.
