LOCATION - Lat 38°58'33.7", long 75°34'00.9" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Kent County, DE, Hydrologic Unit 02040207, on left bank 30 ft downstream from northbound lane of bridge on U.S. Route 13, 400 ft downstream from Black Swamp Creek, 1.3 mi upstream from Killen Pond, 2.2 mi south of Felton, and 17.6 mi upstream from mouth.

DRAINAGE AREA - 12.9 mi².

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS

PERIOD OF RECORD - July 1931 to October 1933. Monthly discharges only for July to September 1931, published in WSP 1302. Annual maximum, water years 1952-60, and occasional low-flow measurements, water years 1952-53, 1955-57, 1959-60. June 1960 to September 1985. October 1996 to September 1999. April 2007 to December 2008. December 2016 to January 2020 (discontinued).

GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 21.09 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. July 1931 to October 1933, nonrecording gage at bridge 200 ft upstream at gage datum 2.00 ft higher. March 1951 to May 1960, nonrecording gage and crest-stage gage at bridge 200 ft upstream at gage datum 2.00 ft higher.

REMARKS -

Water Year 2020: Records fair for period of operation, except those for estimated discharges, which were poor.

Water Year 2019: Records good, except those for estimated discharges, which were poor.

Water Year 2018: Records fair, except those below 1.4 ft³/s, those above 1,040 ft³/s, and those for estimated discharges, which are poor.

Water Year 2017: Records good, no estimated discharges.
