LOCATION - Lat 38°47'27.6", long 75°15'02.8" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Sussex County, DE, Hydrologic Unit 02040207, on right bank at abandoned bridge abutment, just downstream of State Highway 1, 3.3 mi east of Milton, and 7.8 mi upstream of mouth.
WATER-QUALITY RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: December 2016 to current year. WATER TEMPERATURE: December 2016 to current year. pH: December 2016 to current year. DISSOLVED OXYGEN: December 2016 to current year.
COOPERATION - Funding for water-quality data collection is provided by the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, and the United States Geological Survey.
INSTRUMENTATION - Multi-parameter water-quality monitor, December 2016 to current. Sonde swapped regularly. Sonde signal adapter last replaced 02/15/2023. Unknown age of cable. Large battery and solar panel at site.
REMARKS -

Water Years 2017-2020: Missing record due to periodic instrument malfunction and blow-out tides caused by heavy NW / WNW wind.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD -

TEMPERATURE: Minimum: -0.8°C on multiple days, first occurrence on Jan. 4, 2018; Maximum: 33°C on multiple days, first occurrence July 21, 2019.

SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: Minimum: 134 microsiemens/cm, Mar. 5, 2019; Maximum: 43600 microsiemens/cm first occurrence on Oct. 10, 2019.

pH: Minimum: 6.4 pH units on multiple days, first occurrence on March 30, 2021; Maximum: 8.8 pH units on May 19, 2021. 

DISSOLVED OXYGEN: Minimum: 0.4 mg/L on multiple days, first occurrence Aug. 24, 2017; Maximum: 17.2 mg/L on May 18, 2021.
