LOCATION - Lat 41°26'28", long 75°38'33" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Lackawanna County, PA, Hydrologic Unit 02050107, on right bank, 20 ft upstream from Parker Street Bridge at Scranton, 0.25 mi downstream from Leggetts Creek and 14.1 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 174 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Water year 1999 to 2008 (miscellaneous measurements), October 2008 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 708.59 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Satellite telemetry at station.
COOPERATION - Station established and maintained by the U. S. Geological Survey in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.
REMARKS - Regulation at low flow by mine pumping upstream. Flow regulated by Stillwater Dam (station 01534180) about 25 mi upstream and since 1970 by Aylesworth Lake (station 01534490) about 9.4 mi upstream. Records for water year 2014 are good except those for discharges greater than 2,400 ft³/s, which are fair, and those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Records for water year 2015 are good except those for discharges greater than 2,400 ft³/s, which are fair, and those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Records for water year 2016 are good except those for discharges greater than 2,400 ft³/s, which are fair, and those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Records for water year 2017 are good except those for discharges greater than 2,400 ft³/s, which are fair, and those for estimated discharges, which are poor. Records for water year 2018 are good except those for discharges greater than 3,000 ft³/s, which are fair, and those for estimated discharges, which are poor.
