LOCATION - Lat 40°52'00", long 77°02'55" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Union County, PA, Hydrologic Unit 02050301, on left bank 250 ft downstream from bridge on State Highway 104, 2.9 mi upstream from Sweitzers Run, and 0.8 mi northeast of Penns Creek, Pa.
DRAINAGE AREA - 301 mi².

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1929 to current year. Prior to October 1965, published as Penn Creek at Penns Creek.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 506.64 ft. above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Oct 1929 to Feb 1, 1930, non-recording gage at same site and datum.   Prior to September 5, 2023, the datum of gage was reported as 507.38 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929.  Datum of gage was also previously reported as 506.72 ft above datum of 1912.  Satellite and landline telemetry at station.
COOPERATION - Station established and maintained by the U.S. Geological Survey. Funding for the operation of this station is provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and the U.S. Geological Survey.
REMARKS - Records for water years 2014-2016 are good, except those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Records for water years 2017-2019 are good, except for estimated discharge, which is poor. Records for water years 2020-2023 are fair except for estimated discharge, which is poor.
