LOCATION - Lat 40°12'45", long 77°55'32" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Huntingdon County, PA, Hydrologic Unit 02050304, on right bank 10 ft downstream from bridge on State Highway 994, 300 ft upstream from East Broad Top Railroad bridge, 350 ft upstream from Three Springs Creek, and 2.35 mi northeast of Three Springs.
DRAINAGE AREA - 205 mi². includes that of Three Springs Creek; 174 square miles without Three Springs Creek.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - June 1938 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 618.65 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Satellite telemetry and landline at station.
COOPERATION - Station established and maintained by the U.S. Geological Survey. Funding for this station is provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and the U.S. Geological Survey.
REMARKS - Records include flow of Three Springs Creek. Records for water years 2014-2015 are good, except those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Records for water year 2016 are fair, except those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Records for water years 2017-2022 are fair, except for estimated discharge, which is poor. Records for water year 2023 are good except for July 1 through Sept 30, which are fair, and for estimated discharge, which is poor.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of Jun 1, 1889, reached a stage of about 19.3 ft, discharge, about 24,000 ft³/s.
