01575598 Codorus Creek near Saginaw, PA

LOCATION - Lat 40°03'08", long 76°39'16" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, York County, PA, Hydrologic Unit 02050306, on downstream side of bridge on Furnace Road over Codorus Creek East Manchester Township, 0.83 mi upstream from mouth.

DRAINAGE AREA - 277 mi².

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS

PERIOD OF RECORD - September 2019 to current year.

GAGE - Water stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 253 above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Satellite telemetry at gage.

COOPERATION - Station established and maintained by the US Geological Survey in cooperation with the US Environmental Protection Agency.

REMARKS - Records for water year 2020 are fair except for estimated discharge, which is poor. Records for water year 2021 are good except for discharge above 7,000 cfs and estimated discharge, which is poor. Records for water year 2022 are good.

WATER-QUALITY RECORDS

PERIOD OF RECORD - December 2012 to current year.

PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD - Water Temperature: November 2019 to current year. Specific Conductance: November 2019 to current year. pH: November 2019 to current year. Dissolved Oxygen: November 2019 to current year. Turbidity: November 2019 to current year. Nitrate: May 2020 to current year.

COOPERATION - Continous water-quality collected in cooperation with York County. Water-quality samples were collected as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Water-Quality Network (WQN) with cooperation from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.

INSTRUMENTATION - Water-quality monitor interfaced with a data collection platform with 15-minute recording interval.

REMARKS - Analyses for pH, water temperature, specific conductance, and dissolved oxygen were performed on site. All other sample analyses were performed at the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection laboratory in Harrisburg, Pa. Occasionally, values for filtered parameters may exceed values for the corresponding unfiltered parameter. These results are within the limits of analytical precision and methods.
