LOCATION - Lat 38°29'12", long 78°57'38" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Rockingham County, VA, Hydrologic Unit 02070005, on right downstream side of bridge on State Highway 726, at Mount Clinton.
DRAINAGE AREA - 14.3 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - OFR 2006-1308: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - April 1993 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 1,360.27 ft (+/- 0.14 ft) above NAVD of 1988. The NAVD of 1988 datum was determined by a level 2 GNSS survey (Reference Frame NAD_83 (2011) (EPOCH:2010.0000), GEOID18) by USGS on October 27, 2022 and tied to RM4. Prior to October 27, 2022, the datum of gage was reported as 1,360.21 ft above NAVD of 1988.
REMARKS - Occasional diversion upstream from station during summer months, amount and location unknown.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Minimum instantaneous flow, 0.07ft³/s on Jan. 2, 2018 at a gage height of 2.52ft. Multiple periods of possible 0 flow due to frozen water upstream of gage. Maximum instantaneous flow, 3,850ft³/s on Sept. 6 1996 at a gage height of 10.37ft. 
WATER-QUALITY RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - March 1993 to September 2006, Intermittent water-quality records collected at this station since Water Year 2007 to current year.
PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD - January 2002 to September 2004.
INSTRUMENTATION - Specific conductance and water temperature monitor. Electronic data logger with 15-minute recording interval.
REMARKS - Water quality samples have also been collected at this site by the USGS Maryland Water Water Science Center.

SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: 596 microsiemens/cm, Nov. 1-3, 2002; minimum, 136 microsiemens/cm, July 6, Sept. 19, 2003.
WATER TEMPERATURE: Maximum, 31.0°C, Aug. 2, 2002; minimum, 0.0°C, on many days.
