LOCATION - Lat 35°49'01", long 78°35'35" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Wake County, NC, Hydrologic Unit 03020201, at right upstream wingwall, on bridge at Stoneybrook Road, 0.2 mi downstream of U.S. Highway 401, and 2.9 mi southwest of New Hope.
DRAINAGE AREA - 6.84 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR NC-96-1: 1995 (annual maximum discharge).
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - January 1984 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. The datum of the gage is 194.9 ft above the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 NAD83(2011) Geoid 12A.
(HISTORICAL): Datum previously reported as 196.63 ft from levels provided by NCDOT. The datum was not reported. November 7, 2007 to March 12, 2009, at site 0.4 mi downstream at datum 8.00 ft lower due to temporary gage relocation as a result of bridge construction. 
REMARKS - Gage-height records are generally good. Discharge records are generally fair except for estimated discharges, which are poor. Additional details on the accuracy of the records can be obtained by contacting the USGS South Atlantic Water Science Center at gs-w-nc_nwisweb_data_inquiries@usgs.gov.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge for period of record; 3,900 ft³/s, September 6, 1996 from rating curve extension above 1,300 ft³/s, on basis of indirect measurement of peak flow, Maximum instantaneous gage height, 13.33 ft, Minimum daily discharge, no flow, August 3, 1999.
