02095181 NORTH BUFFALO CREEK AT WESTOVER TERRACE AT GREENSBORO, NC
LOCATION - Lat 36°04'45", long 79°48'46" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Guilford County, NC, Hydrologic Unit 03030002, on right bank at termination of Westover Terrace in Greensboro, 0.7 mi upstream from Southern Railway bridge.
DRAINAGE AREA - 9.55 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - Data was unapproved and revised from July 25, 2016 through August 19, 2019. The revision was precipitated by levels on October 10, 2019 that determined a +0.05 datum correction was needed. The Proration Comp Tool V1 was used to determine the correct gage heights for the affected site visits during this period. Qualifying discharge measurement's gage heights were changed and associated shifts were corrected to the new gage heights.
Data from February 5, 2020 to February 24, 2021 was revised due to a datum correction.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - June 1999 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 736.25 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Satellite telemetry at streamgage. Datum of gage is 735.5 ft above NAVD 88. (Datum of gage is 736.25 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929). Elevation to NAVD88 obtained by using brass disc 'COG #138' with 754.67 (NAVD 88) stamped on it. This disc is located on the upstream side of the bridge upstream from the gage at Westover St.
REMARKS - Gage-height records are generally good. Discharge records are generally fair except for estimated discharges, which are poor. Additional details on the accuracy of the records can be obtained by contacting the USGS South Atlantic Water Science Center at gs-w-nc_nwisweb_data_inquiries@usgs.gov.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge for period of record 2950 ft3/s, July 31, 2019. Maximum gage height, 15.44 ft, from floodmarks, July 31, 2019. Minimum daily mean discharge no flow, August 9, 2002.
