LOCATION - Lat 34°59'59", long 79°12'53" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Hoke County, NC, Hydrologic Unit 03030004, at upstream side of bridge on U.S. Highway 401, 1.0 mi downstream of Nicholsons Creek, and 1.0 mile north of Raeford.
DRAINAGE AREA - 93.1 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - July 1988 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is 178 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map. Satellite telemetry at station.
REMARKS - Gage-height records are generally good. Discharge records are generally good except for estimated discharges, which are poor.  Additional details on the accuracy of the records can be obtained by contacting the USGS South Atlantic Water Science Center at gs-w-nc_nwisweb_data_inquiries@usgs.gov.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum Discharge 5490 ft³/s, October 9, 2016; Maximum Gage Height 12.94 ft, October 9, 2016, as a result of Hurricane Matthew. Minimum Mean Daily Discharge 20.3 ft³/s, August 14, 2002.
