LOCATION - Lat 36°07'58.39", long 80°26'42.99" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Forsyth County, NC, Hydrologic Unit 03040101, on middle of downstream side of bridge on Secondary Road 1525, 1.5 mi east of Enon, 4 mi upstream from Forbush Creek, and 324 mi upstream from mouth of Pee Dee River in Winyah Bay.
DRAINAGE AREA - 1,694 mi².

Gage datum was revised on October 28, 2021, based on a more accurate determination of the gage datum.

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS

July 1964 to current year.
PRECIPITATION: October 2000 to May 2015 (discontinued), station number 360754080263945.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 701.40 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Prior to November 6, 1968, nonrecording gage on downstream side of bridge at same site and datum. Satellite telemetry at streamgage.
REMARKS -

Some regulation by W. Kerr Scott Reservoir (station 02111391). Raingage relocated to station number 360848080251845 May 2015.

EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of August 15, 1940, reached a stage of 737.5 ft (35.8 ft above gage datum), from information by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum instantaneous discharge, 73,300 cfs, Jun 21, 1972. Maximum instantaneous gage-height, 29.52 ft, Sep 22, 1979. Minimum daily mean discharge, 221 cfs, Aug 23, 2008.
