LOCATION - Lat 35°43'03.39", long 80°35'45.87" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Rowan County, NC, Hydrologic Unit 03040102, On upstream side of bridge on U.S. Highway 70, 1.3 mi downstream of Withrow Creek, and 2.7 mi east of Barber.
DRAINAGE AREA - 118 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - 
Occasional low-flow measurements, water years 1949-57, 1961-63. April 1979 to current year.
PRECIPITATION: October 2001 to October 2005. March 2007 to current year, station number 354303080354645.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 642.53 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Prior to November 2, 2005, 80 ft downstream at same datum. Satellite telemetry at streamgage.
REMARKS - Some diurnal fluctuation caused by industry 0.7 mi upstream.
