LOCATION - Lat 35°19'58", long 80°42'57" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Mecklenburg County, NC, Hydrologic Unit 03040105, on left bank on upstream side of bridge at Pavilion Blvd, 0.1 mi downstream of Stony Creek, and 3.8 mi northwest of Harrisburg.
DRAINAGE AREA - 34.6 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - December 1994 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 568.40 ft, North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Radio telemetry at streamgage.
REMARKS - Gage-height records are generally good. Discharge records are generally fair except for estimated discharges, which are poor. Additional details on the accuracy of the records can be obtained by contacting the USGS South Atlantic Water Science Center at gs-w-nc_nwisweb_data_inquiries@usgs.gov.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge for period of record, 13,100 ft³/s, November 12, 2020 from rating curve extended above 6,500 ft³/s on basis of contracted opening measurement of peak flow. Maximum gage height for period of record, 19.99 ft, November 12, 2020. No flow occurred several days August 2002, September2007, and October 2007.
