LOCATION - Lat 35°15'22.84", long 80°42'02.50" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Mecklenburg County, NC, Hydrologic Unit 03040105, on left upstream wingwall on Secondary Road 2803, 3.8 mi southeast of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
DRAINAGE AREA - 2.50 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY -
Discharge for the period Nov. 20, 2018, to Jan. 16, 2020, was revised on May 18, 2020, based on changes to the stage-discharge rating.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 2001 to September 2007, June 2014 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 635.45 ft, North American Vertical Datum of 1988, from levels. June 2014 to April 19, 2015 at same site, datum 637.45 ft, North American Vertical Datum of 1988. October 2001 to September 2007 at site 50 ft downstream on downstream side of culvert at datum 637.45 ft, North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Satellite telemetry at station.
REMARKS - Gage-height records are generally good. Discharge records are generally fair except for estimated discharges, which are poor. EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Period of record peak discharge of 1,020 cfs occurred on November 12, 2020, at a gage-height of 7.03 ft from rating curve extended. Period of record peak gage-height of 7.83 ft with discharge unknown occurred on April 24, 2018. No flow occurred July 30, 31, August 1, 7, 10, 11, 2002; August 17-21, September 9, 12, 22-25, 2007; July 22, September 4-6, 8-9, 2018 and periods through September 03-29, 2022.
