02132000 LYNCHES RIVER AT EFFINGHAM, SC
LOCATION - Lat 34°03'05", long 79°45'15" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Florence County, SC, Hydrologic Unit 03040202, on left bank at downstream side of bridge on U.S. Highway 52, 75 ft upstream from Seaboard Coast Line Railroad Bridge, 1.0 mi south of Effingham, and at mile 43.4.
DRAINAGE AREA - 1,030 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1929 to current. Gage-height records collected at same site since 1891 are contained in reports of National Weather Service.
GAGE - Data collection platform. Datum of gage is 57.39 ft above NAVD of 1988. Prior to Sept. 7, 1934, nonrecording gage at same site and datum.
REMARKS - Gage-height records are generally good to fair. Discharge records are generally good to fair except for estimated discharges, which are poor. Additional details on the accuracy of the records can be obtained by contacting the USGS South Atlantic Water Science Center at gs-w-sc_nwisweb_data_inquiries@usgs.gov.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum instantaneous discharge, 16800 cfs, Oct. 6, 2015. Maximum instantaneous gage height, 19.70 ft, Oct. 6, 2015. Minimum daily mean discharge, 69.2 cfs, Aug. 14, 2002.
