02135000 LITTLE PEE DEE RIVER AT GALIVANTS FERRY, SC
LOCATION - Lat 34°03'24.3", long 79°14'51.8" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Horry County, SC, Hydrologic Unit 03040204, near mid-bridge, on downstream side of south bound bridge of U.S. Highway 501, at Galivants Ferry, 1.0 mi downstream from Lake Swamp, and at river mile 41.7.
DRAINAGE AREA - 2,790 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY -

Specific conductance record for the period Oct. 2, 2016 to Nov. 8, 2016 were revised on Jan. 27, 2020. An “Equipment” qualifier had been added to the readings preventing them from being seen on NWIS Web. The SC readings were determined to be good and the equipment qualifier removed.

Precipitation for the period Oct. 7, 2019 was revised on May 21, 2020, based on the deletion of erroneous data.

Gage datum was revised on November 3, 2020, based on an error in the determination of the gage datum.

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - January 1942 to current year. Monthly discharge only for some periods, published in WSP 1303.
GAGE - Data collection platform. Datum of gage is 22.34 ft above NAVD of 1988. Prior to July 26, 1967, nonrecording gage and crest-stage gage at same site and datum.
REMARKS - Gage-height records are generally good to fair. Discharge records are generally fair except for estimated discharges, which are poor. EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum stage known, 16.0 ft, in September 1928, from floodmark set by local resident.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum Discharge 64,700 ft³/s, Sep. 21, 2018; Gage-Height 17.21 ft, Sep. 21, 2018 (as a result of Hurricane Florence). Minimum daily mean discharge, 72.8 cfs, Aug. 17, 2002.
