LOCATION - Lat 35°26'03", long 81°01'48" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Lincoln County, NC, Hydrologic Unit 03050101, on right bank 1,000 ft. upstream from Forney Creek, 1.7 mi upstream from bridge on Secondary Road 1511, 1.5 mi northwest of Lowesville, NC and 2.4 mi northeast of Mariposa NC.
DRAINAGE AREA - 36.4 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD -
October 1990 to June 1993, December 1994 to current year.
PRECIPITATION: June 2004 to current year, station number 352602081014745.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder, crest-stage gage, and concrete control. Datum of gage is 642.20 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988, from levels. Satellite telemetry at streamgage.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge for period of record, 9,060 ft³/s, June 29, 2013, from rating curve extended above 2,000 ft³/s on basis of slope-conveyance measurement of peak flow at gage height 15.67 ft. No flow occurred August 13-14, September 10-13, 2002 and part of October 17, 2007. Minimum discharges may be affected by diversions by Duke Energy.
