LOCATION - Lat 35°12'12", long 80°46'20" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Mecklenburg County, NC, Hydrologic Unit 03050103, on left bank at downstream end of culvert on Sheffield Drive, 3.8 mi east of city hall in Charlotte.
DRAINAGE AREA - 1.03 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR-US-2010: 2004-09: Maximum discharge.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - July 2004 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 685.18 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Radio telemetry at streamgage.
REMARKS -

Low flows affected by regulation of unknown origin.

Gage-height records are generally good. Discharge records are generally fair except for estimated discharges, which are poor.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge for period of record, 969 ft³/s, January 24, 2010, from rating curve extended above 225 ft³/s on basis of culvert computation of peak flow at gage height 8.72 ft. No flow occurred many days in water years 2007 to 2012, July, August, September 2015, September 2016, July, September 2018, August, September 2022.
