02146750 MCALPINE CREEK BELOW MCMULLEN CREEK NEAR PINEVILLE, NC
LOCATION - Lat 35°03'59.39", long 80°52'11.46" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Mecklenburg County, NC, Hydrologic Unit 03050103, on right bank, 150 ft downstream of McMullen Creek, 735 ft upstream from effluent outfall, and 2.1 mi south of Pineville.
DRAINAGE AREA - 92.4 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - The datum was revised because the original NAVD88 datum was found to be in error by the Level II GNSS survey that was performed by USGS personnel on December 20, 2022.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - April 1974 to current year. PRECIPITATION: May 1993 to current year, published as station number 350359080521145.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder, crest-stage gage, and concrete control. Datum of gage is 515.31 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Prior to October 1, 1977, at present site at datum of 516.51 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Radio telemetry at streamgage.
REMARKS -

Records for periods of heavy overbank flow may be affected by variable backwater not adequately defined.

EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum stage known since at least 1964, about 12.9 ft. (at datum of 516.51 ft), April 1, 1973, from information by wastewater treatment plant operator.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum gage height for period of record, 19.40 ft, August 27, 1995, from high-water mark in gage house, discharge 12,500 ft³/s.
