02146800 SUGAR CREEK NEAR FORT MILL, SC
LOCATION - Lat 35°00'20.41", long 80°54'07.02" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, York County, SC, Hydrologic Unit 03050103, on downstream side of State Highway 160 bridge, 0.7 mi downstream from Clems Branch and 2.6 mi east of Fort Mill, SC.
DRAINAGE AREA - 262 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - Revisions: Gage height and discharge for the period of March 21, 2022, to October 7, 2022, and the mean gage-height associated with discharge measurement #215 were revised on January 5, 2023, based on the replacement of erroneous gage-height data with valid data.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Operated as measurement only station during the 1969 water year; operated as continuous discharge station January 1974 to September 1978; operated as measurement only station, 1982 to 2006; operated as a continuous discharge station, April 2006 to current year.
GAGE - Data collection platform. Datum of gage is 478.90 ft above NAVD of 1988, from GNSS survey. Prior to May 31, 2006 at same site at datum 5.0 ft lower.
REMARKS - Gage-height records are generally good. Discharge records are generally fair except for estimated discharges, which are poor. EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum peak discharge 19,300 cfs, gage height 27.30 feet, August 27, 2008. Minimum daily mean discharge, 89.1 cfs, Oct. 13, 2007.
