02147801 LAKE WATEREE TAILRACE ABOVE CAMDEN, SC
LOCATION - Lat 34°20'07", long 80°42'08" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Kershaw County, SC, Hydrologic Unit 03050104, on right banks of Wateree River just below Lake Wateree Dam, at power house, 7.3 miles upstream of US 1, 8.2 miles northwest of Camden,SC.
DRAINAGE AREA - 4,740 mi².  
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
GAGE - Data collection platform. Datum of gage is 133.91 ft above NAVD of 1988.
REMARKS - Gage-height records are generally good to fair. Discharge records are generally good to fair except for estimated discharges, which are poor. Additional details on the accuracy of the records can be obtained by contacting the USGS South Atlantic Water Science Center at gs-w-sc_nwisweb_data_inquiries@usgs.gov.

INSTRUMENTATION -

EXO3 CWQMs are installed at both upstream and downstream sites, collecting continuous dissolved oxygen and water temperature data at 15-minute intervals. 

An EXO3 CWQM was installed on October 29, 2021 during installation of the gage downstream.

An EXO3 CWQM was installed on September 23, 2019 at the upstream site.

Prior to September 23, 2019, a 600 OMS V2 was installed at the upstream site.

REMARKS - Data is collected for the months April through November. The gage is regulated by release from the Wateree Dam just upstream.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD -

WATER TEMPERATURE: Maximum recorded, 34.7 °C, June 21, 2018; minimum recorded, 9.1°C, January 12, 13, 15, 18, 2017.

DISSOLVED OXYGEN: Maximum recorded, 11.7 mg/L, April 1, 2019; minimum recorded, 0.2 mg/L, August 15, 2018.
