02151500 BROAD RIVER NEAR BOILING SPRINGS, NC
LOCATION - Lat 35°12'39", long 81°41'51" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Cleveland County, NC, Hydrologic Unit 03050105, on right bank 0.5 mi upstream from Sandy Run Creek, 3 mi downstream of Second Broad River, and 3.5 mi southwest of Boiling Springs.
DRAINAGE AREA - 875 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY -

WDR NC-81-1: Drainage area. WDR NC-88-1: 1986 (minimum discharge, gage height, daily discharges, June, July, August). WDR-US-2008: 2007 (daily discharges). 

Revisions: Gage height and discharge for the period Feb. 13, 2020, to Nov. 9, 2021, and the mean gage-heights associated with discharge measurements #459-#470 were revised on Aug. 26, 2022, based on changes to the gage datum.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - June 1925 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 638.33 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Prior to July 20, 1934, at site 500 ft upstream at 640.92 ft. Satellite telemetry at streamgage.
REMARKS - Gage-height records are generally good. Discharge records are generally fair except for estimated discharges, which are poor. Additional details on the accuracy of the records can be obtained by contacting the USGS South Atlantic Water Science Center at gs-w-nc_nwisweb_data_inquiries@usgs.gov.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge for period of record, 73,300 cfs August 16, 1928 (gage height, 24.3 ft, old site, present datum). Discharge on August 14, 1940, was 60,400 cfs (gage height, 22.10 ft). Maximum known flood occurred in July 1916, peak stage and discharge not determined.
