02153051 GASTON SHOALS RESERVOIR ABOVE BLACKSBURG, SC
LOCATION - Lat 35°08'15", long 81°35'53" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Cherokee County, SC, Hydrologic Unit 03050105, attached to the rail on the face of the dam, approximately 100 ft left of the stairs, 5.0 mi northwest of Blacksburg and 5.0 mi northeast of Gaffney.
DRAINAGE AREA - 1,280 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - Gage datum was revised on September 18, 2019,  based on an error in the determination of the gage datum.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1997 to current year.
GAGE - Data collection platform and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 504.71 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988, from GNSS survey. Satellite telemetry at streamgage.
REMARKS - Gage-height records are generally good. Additional details on the accuracy of the records can be obtained by contacting the USGS South Atlantic Water Science Center at gs-w-nc_nwisweb_data_inquiries@usgs.gov.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum elevation, 106.20 ft, February 7, 2020; minimum elevation since normal reservoir levels were first reached, 82.36 ft, October 3, 2017.
