02166501 LAKE GREENWOOD TAILRACE NEAR CHAPPELLS, SC
LOCATION - Lat 34°10'03", long 81°54'29" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Newberry County, SC, Hydrologic Unit 03050109, on downstream side of SC Hwy 34 bridge crossing the Saluda River, 0.25 mi below the dam, 0.5 miles upstream of Wilson Creek and 2.4 miles west of Chappells, SC.
DRAINAGE AREA - 1,170 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1996 to current year. Gage-height records only are available for the period of May 1977 to September 1996.
GAGE - Data collection platform. Datum of gage is 370.00 ft above NGVD of 1929. Prior to October 2005 at site 200 ft below the dam and at same datum.
REMARKS - Gage-height records are generally good. Discharge records are generally good except for estimated discharges, which are poor. Additional details on the accuracy of the records can be obtained by contacting the USGS South Atlantic Water Science Center at gs-w-sc_nwisweb_data_inquiries@usgs.gov.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum Discharge and Corresponding Gage Height:  21800 CFS, 31.79 ft. on 10/4/15.  Maximum Gage Height: 32.89 ft. on 8/28/95.
Minimum Discharge and Corresponding Gage Height:  1.51 CFS, 5.13 ft. on 11/22/2019.
Maximum Daily Mean Discharge:  18800 CFS on 02/08/2020.
