02168504 SALUDA RIVER BELOW LAKE MURRAY NEAR COLUMBIA, SC
LOCATION - Lat 34°03'03", long 81°12'35" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Lexington County, SC, Hydrologic Unit 03050109, on left bank, approximately 1000 ft downstream from Lake Murray Dam on Saluda River, and at mile 9.7.
DRAINAGE AREA - 2,420 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1988 to current year.
GAGE - Data collection platform. Elevation of gage is 168.36 ft above NAVD of 1988.
REMARKS - Gage-height records are generally good. Discharge records are generally good except for estimated discharges, which are poor. Additional details on the accuracy of the records can be obtained by contacting the USGS South Atlantic Water Science Center at gs-w-sc_nwisweb_data_inquiries@usgs.gov.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Lowest daily mean discharge of 155 cfs occurred Sep 24, 25, 29, 1989. Maximum peak stage of 16.01 ft on Feb 21, 1990 caused by backwater from spillway floodgates.
