LOCATION - Lat 33°58'21.5", long 82°46'15.1" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Elbert County, GA, Hydrologic Unit 03060104, at downstream side of main channel pier of bridge on State Highway 17, 0.5 mi downstream from confluence with Long Creek, 1.0 mi south of Bells Crossroads, and 12.0 mi southeast of Elberton.
DRAINAGE AREA - 1,420 mi².

GAGE - Satellite telemetry with a water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 356.8 feet above North American Vertical Datum (NAVD) of 1988. Prior to October 1928, a non-recording gage was located at a railroad bridge about 1.0 mile downstream at datum 1.12 feet lower. From October 1928 to July 1932, and August 1937 to January 1939, a non-recording gage was located at present site and datum.
