LOCATION - Lat 32°56'00.0", long 81°39'02.4" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Screven County, GA, Hydrologic Unit 03060108, near right bank on downstream side of pier of Girard-Millhaven Road, 8.5 mi upstream from Beaverdam Creek, and at Millhaven.
DRAINAGE AREA - 646 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1383: Drainage area. WSP 1503: 1956.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD -
DISCHARGE: October 1936 to current year. Monthly discharges only for October 1936 to April 1937, published in WSP 1303.
GAGE HEIGHT: October 1992 to current year.
GAGE -

Satellite telemetry with a water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 95.17 ft above North American Vertical Datum (NAVD) of 1988. Prior to November 18, 2021datum of gage is 95.88 feet above National Geodetic Vertical Datum (NGVD) of 1929. Prior to June 7, 1950, a non-recording gage was located at a site 200 feet downstream at same datum. From June 7, 1950 to April 30, 1951, a non-recording gage was located at present site and datum.

REMARKS - Gage-height records are generally good. Discharge records are generally fair except for estimated discharges, which are poor. EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum stage known since at least 1796, 25.1 feet in September or October 1929, from information provided by the Georgia Department of Transportation; discharge, 64,000 cfs, by slope-conveyance study.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge recorded, 25,400 cfs, August 16, 1940; maximum gage-height recorded, 17.40 feet, from graph based on gage readings, August 16, 1940; minimum daily discharge, 32 cfs, September 3, 4, 2011.
