USGS Water-Year Summary 2023
LOCATION - Lat 31°58'37.1", long 81°17'16.3" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Bryan County, GA, Hydrologic Unit 03060202, at fishing dock at Kings Ferry Park, 650 feet downstream of US 17, 1.4 miles from confluence with Canoochee River, and 2.9 miles northeast of Richmond Hill, GA.
DRAINAGE AREA - 4,410 mi².
DISCHARGE: December 2009 to current year.
GAGE HEIGHT: December 2009 to current year.
WATER VELOCITY: December 2009 to current year.
GAGE - Satellite telemetry with a water-stage recorder and acoustic velocity meter. Velocity data represents the average water velocity at the downstream cross-section with positive values in the downstream direction. Datum of gage is the North American Vertical Datum (NAVD) of 1988 (levels by U.S. Geological Survey). Prior to October 1, 2011, datum of gage was 3.92 feet below NAVD88.
COOPERATION - Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Environmental Protection Division.
REMARKS - Gage-height records are generally fair. Water velocity records are generally fair. Discharge records are generally fair. Additional details on the accuracy of the records can be obtained by contacting the USGS South Atlantic Water Science Center at gs-w-ga_nwisweb_data_inquiries@usgs.gov.

Streamflow at this site is affected significantly by astronomical tides. By convention, the U.S. Geological Survey has established ebb (seaward) flows as positive flows and flood (landward) flows as negative flows.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge recorded, 40,000 cfs, February 23, 2021; maximum gage height recorded, 7.24 feet, March 9, 2020; minimum gage height recorded, -3.89 feet, December 13, 2010.
PERIOD OF RECORD - December 2009 to current year.
