02215500 OCMULGEE RIVER AT LUMBER CITY, GA
LOCATION - Lat 31°55'11.7", long 82°40'26.6" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Jeff Davis County, GA, Hydrologic Unit 03070104, near left bank on downstream end of pier of bridge on US 341, 500 ft downstream from Southern Railway bridge, 1.0 mi upstream from confluence with Little Ocmulgee River, 12.0 mi upstream from confluence with Oconee River, and at Lumber City.
DRAINAGE AREA - 5,180 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD -
DISCHARGE: October 1936 to current year.
GAGE HEIGHT: October 1989 to current year. Gage-height records collected at same site since 1908 are contained in reports of National Weather Service.
GAGE - Satellite telemetry with a water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 86.93 feet above National American Vertical Datum (NGVD) of 1988. Prior to November 8, 1937, a non-recording gage was located at same site and datum.
COOPERATION - Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Environmental Protection Division.
REMARKS - Gage-height records are generally fair. Discharge records are generally fair except for estimated discharges, which are poor.  Additional details on the accuracy of the records can be obtained by contacting the USGS South Atlantic Water Science Center at gs-w-ga_nwisweb_data_inquiries@usgs.gov.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge known since at least 1841, 98,400 cfs, January 21, 1925, from rating extended above 86,000 cfs on basis of records of peak flow for stations on Ocmulgee, Oconee, and Altamaha Rivers; maximum stage known, 26.3 feet, January 21, 1925, which had backwater conditions from Oconee River.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge recorded, 92,900 cfs, July 15, 1994; maximum gage height recorded 24.59 feet, July 15, 1994; minimum daily discharge, 621 cfs, October 8, 2008.

Laboratory analyses with analyzing agency code 81341 are by the Laboratory Services Section, Environmental Protection Division, Georgia Department of Natural Resources. Field determinations of Discharge, Specific Conductance, pH, Water Temperature, Air Temperature, and Dissolved Oxygen are by the U.S. Geological Survey.

CONTINUOUS WATER QUALITY:  For period 10/01/2014-06/26/2018: Water temperature records good.
