LOCATION - Lat 29°22'18", long 81°54'07" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SW 1/4 sec.09, T.13 S., R.24 E., Marion County, FL, Hydrologic Unit 03080102, near right bank on upstream end of bridge pier on County Road 316 in Eureka, 3.1 mi downstream from Eaton Creek, and 33.1 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 1,367 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR FL-81-1: Drainage area. The maximum peak discharge for the period of record is 6230 ft³/s, Sept. 9, 1933; the previously published figure was reported in error at 6260 ft³/s, Sept. 9, 1933.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - February 1930 to June 1934; September 1943 to December 1952; January 1981 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder, acoustic velocity meter, and data-collection platform. Datum of gage is at NGVD of 1929 (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers bench mark) and 1.11 ft below NAVD of 1988. Feb. 13, 1930 to June 30, 1934, nonrecording gage, and Sept. 16, 1943 to Dec. 31, 1952, water-stage recorder near present site at datum 15.44 ft higher.
COOPERATION - This gage is monitored in cooperation with the St. Johns River Water Management District.
