LOCATION - Lat 27°02'48", long 82°14'17" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NE 1/4 sec.31, T.39 S., R.21 E., Sarasota County, FL, Hydrologic Unit 03100102, on left bank, 200 ft upstream from control structure 101 in North Port, 800 ft upstream from mouth of Cocoplum Waterway, 0.2 mi north of U. S. Highway 41, and 2.8 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 90 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR-US-2013, site 02299484; WDR-US-2012 datum of gage and revision was published in error. The correct datum of gage is 15.61 ft below National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. WDR-US-2007:Daily sum precipitation for April 9, 2006 and annual total for 2006 water year.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - June 1993 to current year (gage heights only), incomplete.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of the gage is 15.61 ft below National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929.
COOPERATION - This gage is monitored in cooperation with the City of North Port.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum gage height, 25.54 ft, Sept. 28, 2022; minimum, 17.91 ft, Nov. 20, 2013.
CLIMATOLOGICAL RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 2002 to current year.
INSTRUMENTATION - A 6-inch diameter, tipping bucket precipitation gage 15--minute-interval, mounted on pipe attached to dock 2 ft upstream from gage with the top of funnel 8 ft above the water.
REMARKS - Collection, computation and publication of precipitation data do not necessarily conform to standards used by the National Weather Service. Records of precipitation prior to October 1, 2002 not published but are available in files of the Geological Survey.
