LOCATION - Lat 27°08'37", long 82°25'49" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NE 1/4 NW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.29, T.38 S., R.19 E., Sarasota County, FL, Hydrologic Unit 03100201, on dock at left bank, 200 ft. upstream from Fox Creek, 1,200 ft. downstream from confluence of Salt Creek, and 2,500 ft. downstream from the Cow Pen Slough control structure.
DRAINAGE AREA - 64.3 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - May 2003 to September 2010 (tidal high-high and low-low only); October 2010 to current year (maximum and minimum only).
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929.
COOPERATION - This gage is monitored in cooperation with Sarasota County.
REMARKS - Gage height at this site is significantly affected by astronomical tides. The extremes for periods published previously as tidal high-high and low-low gage heights are equivalent to maximum and minimum gage heights.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum gage height, 4.64 ft, Aug. 30, 2023; minimum, 1.78 ft below NGVD 29, Jan. 3, 2008.
WATER-QUALITY RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - June 2003 to September 2013 (top and bottom temperature and specific conductance sensors). October 2013 to current year (bottom temperature and specific conductance sensor).
COOPERATION - This gage is monitored in cooperation with Sarasota County.
