02299735 VENICE INLET AT CROW'S NEST MARINA AT VENICE, FL.
LOCATION - Lat 27°06'44", long 82°27'56" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SW 1/4 sec.1, T.39 S., R.19 E., Sarasota County, FL, Hydrologic Unit 03100201, at the end of a "V" shaped mooring dock at Crow's Nest Marina, on the south side of the Venice Inlet and Gulf of Mexico just prior to entering the city park for the jetty protecting the inlet.
DRAINAGE AREA - Indeterminate.
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR-US-FL-2012:WDR FL-2005-3A through WDR-US-2011 datum published in error. Datum of gage is North American Vertical Datum of 1988.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - April 2004 to September 2010 (tidal high-high and low-low gage heights only); October 2010 to current year (maximum and minimum gage heights only).
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is North American Vertical Datum of 1988.
COOPERATION - This gage is monitored in cooperation with Sarasota County.
REMARKS - Gage height at this site is significantly affected by astronomical tides. The extremes for periods published previously as tidal high-high and low-low gage heights are equivalent to maximum and minimum gage heights.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum gage height, 3.57 ft, Aug. 08, 2023; minimum, 3.82 ft below North American Vertical Datum of 1988, Sept.28, 2022.
WATER-QUALITY RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - April 2004 to September 2012 (top and bottom temperature and specific conductance sensors). October 2012 to current year (bottom temperature and specific conductance sensor).
COOPERATION - This gage is monitored in cooperation with Sarasota County.
INSTRUMENTATION - Water-quality monitor consisting of specific conductance and temperature sensor located at a depth of 7.3 ft. below North American Vertical Datum of 1988.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: Bottom sensor maximum, 57,900 microsiemens, Aug. 12, 2023; bottom sensor minimum, 1,500 microsiemens, Sep. 29, 2022. TEMPERATURE: Bottom sensor maximum, 35.1°C, Aug. 11, 2023; bottom sensor minimum, 8.0°C, Jan. 11, 2010.
