LOCATION - Lat 27°26'28", long 82°29'16" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SE 1/4 sec.15, T.35 S., R.18 E., Manatee County, FL, Hydrologic Unit 03100202, on boat dock of lake, approx. 1500 ft. upstream from control structure, and 5 miles southeast of Bradenton, FL.
DRAINAGE AREA - 59.5 mi². SURFACE AREA.--57.6 acres (0.09mi²).
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR-US-2010:Period of record minimum observed gage height furnished by city of Bradenton for water year 2009; WDR-US-2012:Revised gage height from May 29, 2011 through July 4, 2011, superseding those published in WDR-US-2011.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - November 1942 to September 1947, four times weekly; August 1976 to March 1992 (elevations only); April 1992 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Prior to Oct. 1987, on east side shore of lake at same datum: Oct. 1 1987 to Apr. 9, 1992, on west shore of lake at same datum.
COOPERATION - This gage is monitored in cooperation with the City of Bradenton.
REMARKS - Discharge and lake levels affected by diversion by City of Bradenton. Some years elevations provided by City of Bradenton. Previously published as 02300042 Ward Lake Outfall near Bradenton.
CLIMATOLOGICAL RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 2001 to current year.
INSTRUMENTATION - A 8-inch diameter, tipping bucket precipitation gage 15--minute interval, mounted on post on dock near gage structure with the top of funnel 5 1/2 ft above dock headwall.
REMARKS - Collection, computation and publication of precipitation data do not necessarily conform to standards of the National Weather Service. Records of precipitation prior to October 1, 2001 not published but are available in files of the Geological Survey.
