LOCATION - Lat 28°32'00", long 82°39'01" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Hernando County, FL, Hydrologic Unit 03100207, at mouth of Weeki Wachee River, on Florida Department of Transportation pier at terminus of County Road 550, and 1.1 mi southwest of Bayport.
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR-US-2007:Datum of gage published for water years 1965-1989, 1997-2006.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - January 1964 to September 1965 (elevations only); October 1965 to September 1976 (maximum and minimum gage heights only); October 1976 to September 1986 (tidal high-high and low-low elevations only); October 1986 to September 1989 (tidal high-high and low-low tide stage only); January 1997 to September 2001 (maximum and minimum gage heights only); October 2001 to September 2002 (tidal high-high and low-low tide stage only); October 2002 to September 2003 (maximum and minimum gage heights only); October 2003 to September 2011 (tidal high-high and low-low gage heights only); October 2011 to current year (maximum and minimum gage heights only).
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929 and 0.84 ft below North American Vertical Datum of 1988. October 1967 to October 1976 datum of gage was 10 ft below NGVD of 1929.
COOPERATION - This gage is monitored in cooperation with the Southwest Florida Water Management District.
REMARKS - Water levels are significantly affected by astronomical tides. The extremes for periods published previously as tidal high-high and low-low gage heights are equivalent to maximum and minimum gage heights.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum gage height, 7.68 ft, Aug. 30, 2023; minimum, 2.39 ft below NGVD 29, Jan. 3, 2008.
