02310752 SALT RIVER NEAR CRYSTAL RIVER, FL.

LOCATION - Lat 28°54'05.6", long 82°38'44.9" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SW 1/4 NE 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.024, T.18 S., R.1 6., Citrus County, FL, Hydrologic Unit 03100207, mounted mid-span on east side of bridge over Salt River on Fort Island Trail.

DRAINAGE AREA - Indeterminate.

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS

PERIOD OF RECORD - September 2006 to September 2010 (tidal high-high and low-low gage heights only); October 2010 to current year (maximum and minimum gage heights only).

GAGE - Water stage recorder. The datum of gage is at North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Prior to Oct. 1, 2008 datum of gage was 0.18 ft lower.

COOPERATION - This gage is monitored in cooperation with the Southwest Florida Water Management District.

REMARKS - Gage height at this site is significantly affected by astronomical tides. The extremes for periods published previously as tidal high-high and low-low gage heights are equivalent to maximum and minimum gage heights.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum gage height, 7.30 ft, August 30, 2023; minimum gage height, 3.65 ft below NAVD 88, Jan. 3, 2008. Maximum gage height was likely exceeded on Sept. 27, 2024, during Hurricane Helene but was not recorded due to flood damage to gage

WATER-QUALITY RECORDS

PERIOD OF RECORD - September 2006 to current year.

COOPERATION - This gage is monitored in cooperation with the Southwest Florida Water Management District.

INSTRUMENTATION - Water-quality monitors consisting of two specific conductance and temperature sensors located at fixed depths of -3.8 and -7.0 ft below North American Vertical Datum of 1988.

REMARKS - Top sensor comes out of water at times during extreme low tides.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: Top sensor maximum, 46,700 microsiemens, Sept. 27, 2024; bottom sensor maximum, 50,000 microsiemens, Sept. 27, 2024; top sensor minimum, 973 microsiemens, June 22, 2023; bottom sensor minimum, 2460 microsiemens, Aug. 27, 2012. TEMPERATURE: Top sensor maximum, 34.7 °C, Aug. 11, 12, 2023; bottom sensor maximum, 34.7 °C, Aug. 11, 2023; top sensor minimum, 4.2 °C, Jan. 10, 11, 2010; bottom sensor minimum, 4.1 °C, Jan. 10, 11, 2010.
