LOCATION - Lat 28°44'48", long 82°15'49" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SW 1/4 sec.13, T.20 S., R.20 E., Citrus County, FL, Hydrologic Unit 03100208, at upstream side of control structure, 265 ft, upstream from bridge on Trails End Road, 2.2 mi downstream from Withlacoochee River, and 2.1 mi east of Floral City, FL.
DRAINAGE AREA - Indeterminate.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1962 to September 1983 (discharge measurements only); October 1983 to September 1985 (discharge measurements and gage heights only); October 1985 to September 1991; February 2011 to February 2013 (discharge measurements only); May 2013 to December 2013 (discontinued).
GAGE - Water-stage recorder, acoustic velocity meter, and data-collection platform. Datum of gage is at NAVD of 1988 (Southwest Florida Water Management District bench mark) and 0.85 ft above NGVD of 1929. Prior to Nov. 21, 1983, nonrecording gage at site 150 ft downstream at NGVD of 1929. Nov. 21, 1983 to Nov. 18, 1985 water-stage recorder at present site and datum of NGVD 1929. June 2, 1984 to Dec. 1, 1987 water-stage recorder at downstream side of control structure. Prior to Oct. 1, 2984, at datum 0.09 ft. higher.
COOPERATION - This gage is monitored in cooperation with the Southwest Florida Water Management District.
REMARKS - Flow regulated by gated structure downstream of gage. Canal is a controlled diversion from the Withlacoochee River to Tsala Apopka Lake, reverse flow may occur.
