02354500 CHICKASAWHATCHEE CREEK AT ELMODEL, GA
LOCATION - Lat 31°21'02", long 84°28'57" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Baker County, GA, Hydrologic Unit 03130009, at bridge on GA 37 at Elmodel, 2.0 miles upstream from confluence with Ichawaynochaway Creek.
DRAINAGE AREA - 320 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - Discharge for the period Oct. 11, 2018, to Mar. 9, 2020, was revised on May 27, 2020, based on changes to the stage-discharge rating.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD -
DISCHARGE: October 1939 to December 1949, water years 1952-65 and 1970-83 (annual maximum), July 1995 to current year.
GAGE-HEIGHT: October 1995 to current year.
GAGE - Satellite telemetry with a water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 137.51 above NAVD of 1988. From October 1, 1939, to October 30, 1941, a non-recording gage was located at site approximately 100 feet upstream at present datum. From October 31, 1941, to December 31, 1949, a recording gage was located at present datum. From September 25, 1951, to September 1965 and October 1970 to September 1983, a non-recording gage was located at site 100 feet upstream and present datum.
COOPERATION - Dougherty County.
REMARKS - Gage-height records are generally good. Discharge records are generally fair except for estimated discharges, which are poor.  Additional details on the accuracy of the records can be obtained by contacting the USGS South Atlantic Water Science Center at gs-w-ga_nwisweb_data_inquiries@usgs.gov.

Discharge during growing season affected by undetermined amount of irrigation withdrawal.

EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of July 8, 1994 reached a stage of 20.0 feet, discharge 16,000 cfs from rating curve extended above 9,400 cfs. Minimum discharge observed 1.2 cfs, October 21, 1954.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge recorded, 10,400 cfs, March 11, 1998; maximum gage-height recorded, 17.09 feet, March 11, 1998; minimum daily discharge, 0.0 cfs, numerous summer and fall days 2011 and 2012.
CLIMATOLOGICAL RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - July 2003 to September 2009. April 2011 to current year.
INSTRUMENTATION - Tipping-bucket raingage.
