LOCATION - Lat 30°07'56.14", long 85°08'31.24" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in sec.16, T.4 S., R.9 W., Gulf County, FL, Hydrologic Unit 03130011,

The gage is located at the George C. Gaskin state park, also known as the Wewahitchka boat ramp, and is located at river mile 43.82 on the Apalachicola River. 

DRAINAGE AREA - 17,800 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - January 17, 1950 to February 1954, August 1955 to September 1980, October 1980 to September 1987, October 1988 to September 1996, October 2007 to September 2008.  December 2015 to present. Prior to 1984, discharge records are available in the files of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile, Alabama District.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is the National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Water-stage recorder January 17, 1950 to February 8, 1954 and August 2, 1955 to August 17, 1955, at site 200 feet downstream of present location at datum 15.54 feet higher. Water-stage recorder, August 17, 1955 to October 18, 1955, at site 200 feet downstream of present location at datum 13.41 feet higher. Water-stage recorder, October 18, 1955 to August 30, 1979, at site 200 feet downstream at datum 12.14 feet higher. August 30, 1979 to September 1996, at present site and datum 12.14 feet higher. Since October 1996, at present site and datum.
COOPERATION - Records furnished by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile, Alabama District until Oct. 1, 2024 when USGS began performing discharge measurements, record analysis, and routine gage inspections.
