LOCATION - Lat 30°27'03", long 85°53'54" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NE 1/4 sec.36, T.1 N., R.17 W., Walton County, FL, Hydrologic Unit 03140203, near center of main channel on upstream side of bridge on State Highway 20, 4.0 mi southeast of Bruce, 5.8 mi downstream from Holmes Creek, and 21 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 4,384 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 872: 1937. WSP 1384: Drainage area. WSP 1504: 1931-34.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1930 to March 1983; Apr. 1983 to May 1984 (discharge measurements only); June 1984 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and data-collection platform. Datum of gage is National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Apr. 1, 1983 to May 14, 1999, nonrecording gage at same site and datum. Apr. 6, 1934 to Mar. 31, 1983, water-stage recorder at same site at datum 3.94 ft lower. Oct. 1, 1930 to Apr. 5, 1934, nonrecording gage at site 1.0 mi downstream at datum 4.19 ft lower.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of March 1929 reached a stage of 25.0 ft at former site and datum, from floodmarks, discharge, 220,000 ft³/s, from rating curve extended above 145,000 ft³/s.
