LOCATION - Lat 39°59'50.68", long 79°57'32.19" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Fayette County, PA, Hydrologic Unit 05020005, on right bank on landward lock wall of Maxwell lock and dam, 0.2 miles NE of Luzerne, PA, 2.65 miles upstream from Denbo, PA and 1.0 mile downstream of Vestaburg, PA.
DRAINAGE AREA - 4,440 mi².  
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 2015 to present year.
GAGE - Water stage recorder with reference staff gage. Datum of gage is 734.08 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (from benchmark).  Prior to February 20, 2024, the datum of gage was reported as 734.50 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Satellite telemetry at station.
COOPERATION - Station established and maintained by the U.S. Geological Survey in cooperation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District.
REMARKS - Record for the 2018 water year considered fair.  Record for the 2019 water year considered fair. Records for water year 2020 and onward may be considered good unless missing or estimated, which are poor.
