LOCATION - Lat 39°42'07.9", long 79°08'11.0" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Garrett County, MD, Hydrologic Unit 05020006, on left bank at downstream side of highway bridge, 0.3 mi upstream from Slaubaugh Run, 0.7 mi downstream from U.S. Highway 40, and 1.0 mi northeast of Grantsville.
DRAINAGE AREA - 62.5 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1143: 1948.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - July 1947 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder, crest-stage gage, and concrete control. Datum of gage is 2,088.56 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988.
REMARKS -
  • Water Years 2017-2019: Records good, except those for estimated discharges, which are poor.
  • Water Years 2014-2016: Records good, except those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor.

    EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum daily precipitation, 3.66 in., September 29, 2015.
    REMARKS - Gaps in record indicate missing or erroneous data. Records estimated as zero are based on confirmation with nearby U.S. Geological Survey and National Weather Service sites that zero precipitation occurred on those days.
