LOCATION - Lat 39°42'07.9", long 79°08'11.0" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Garrett County, MD, Hydrologic Unit 05020006, on left bank at downstream side of highway bridge, 0.3 mi upstream from Slaubaugh Run, 0.7 mi downstream from U.S. Highway 40, and 1.0 mi northeast of Grantsville.
DRAINAGE AREA - 64.2 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - July 1947 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder, crest-stage gage, and concrete control. Datum of gage is 2,088.56 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988.
REMARKS -
  • Water Years 2017-2023: Records good, except those for estimated discharges, which are poor.
  • Water Years 2014-2016: Records good, except those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor.
  • Water Year 2013 and prior years’ accuracy statements can be found in Annual Water Data Reports.

  • Slight diurnal fluctuation at low flow from unknown source upstream of station. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers satellite data-collection platform at station.

    REMARKS - Gaps in record indicate missing or erroneous data. Records estimated as zero are based on confirmation with nearby U.S. Geological Survey and National Weather Service sites that zero precipitation occurred on those days. Gage is operated in cooperation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District. USACE satellite data-collection platform at station.
