03094000 MAHONING RIVER AT LEAVITTSBURG, OH
LOCATION - Lat 41°14'21", long 80°52'51" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Trumbull County, OH, Hydrologic Unit 05030103, on right bank at upstream side of Leavitt Road Bridge at Leavittsburg, 300 ft downstream from Duck Creek, and 1.2 mi downstream from Eagle Creek.
DRAINAGE AREA - 575 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1907: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1940 to current year. Prior to June 1941 monthly discharge only, published in WSP 1305.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 870.67 ft (NAVD 1988). Prior to July 2015, gage datum was 871.25 ft (1912 adjustment). Prior to July 2, 1941, nonrecording gage; July 2, 1941-July 22, 1952, water-stage recorder, at site 50 ft downstream at same datum.
COOPERATION - Station maintained in cooperation with U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District.
REMARKS - Nov. 14, 2018 to Oct. 24, 2019: discharge records fair.  Oct. 1, 2013 to Aug. 14, 2017: discharge records fair, except for May 23 to Sept. 8, 2016, which due to lagging well, are poor and estimated daily discharges, which are also considered poor.  Aug. 14 to Oct. 19, 2017: discharge records good.  Oct. 19, 2017 to July 25, 2018: Discharge records good except for estimated daily discharges which are poor.  July 25, 2018 to Nov. 14, 2018: Discharge records fair.  Flow regulated by a lake 25 mi upstream beginning in 1942, by a reservoir 17 mi upstream, and by a reservoir 20 mi upstream on West Branch beginning in 1966. There are some known diversions upstream from station. WATER TEMPERATURE:  Nov. 14, 2018 to Oct. 24, 2019: temperature records good.  Oct. 1, 2013 to Oct. 19, 2017: Temperature records good except Feb. 2, 2014 to Mar. 31, 2014, Oct. 6, 2016 to Mar. 29, 2016 and May 24, 2016 to April 24, 2017, which are fair.  Oct. 19, 2017 to Nov. 14, 2018: temperature records good except Jan. 31, 2018 to Apr. 17, 2018 which are poor.  Record quality ratings may not be included in the water-year summary for approved records newer than 09/30/2018.  Record quality is still being rated internally.  For questions about record quality ratings, please send email to: gs-w-oh_NWISWeb_Data_Inquiries@usgs.gov.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of Mar. 26, 1913, reached a stage of about 24 ft.
