03101500 SHENANGO RIVER AT PYMATUNING DAM, PA
LOCATION - Lat 41°29'53", long 80°27'37" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Crawford County, PA, Hydrologic Unit 05030102, on left bank 500 ft downstream from Sugar Run, 900 ft downstream from Pymatuning Dam, 1.5 mi northwest of Jamestown, at river mile 84.9.
DRAINAGE AREA - 167 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 823: 1934-36. WSP 1083: 1936 (M), 1937, 1940 (M), 1941-45. WSP 1335: 1940.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - June 1934 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and concrete dam control. Datum of gage is 969.4 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988.  Prior to January 8, 2024, the datum of gage was reported as  970.00 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929.  Satellite telemetry at station.
COOPERATION - Station established and maintained by the U.S. Geological Survey. Funding for the operation of this station is provided by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, and the U.S. Geological Survey.
REMARKS -

Flow regulated since December 1933 by Pymatuning Reservoir (station 03100500).

Records for water year are good except those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor.

WATER-QUALITY RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - April 2002 to current year.
COOPERATION - Water-quality samples were collected as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Water-Quality Network (WQN) with cooperation from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.
REMARKS - As of October 2013, results from discrete water quality samples collected at this site are available through the U.S. Geological Survey National Water Information System web interface on the "Water Quality for the Nation" webpage. Analyses for pH, water temperature, specific conductance, and dissolved oxygen were performed on site. All other sample analyses were performed at the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection laboratory in Harrisburg, Pa. Occasionally, values for filtered parameters may exceed values for the corresponding unfiltered parameter. These results are within the limits of analytical precision and methods.
